Heavy rain just after 6pm saw this game abandoned with Moseley snatching a winning draw by the narrowest of margins. Management may now resurrect proposals to construct a roof to avoid further disruptions caused by climate change.
Asked to bat first openers Shoaib and Bhavik Patel put on 53 for the first wicket, before the usual batting collapse saw the Griffs slip to 120 for 7 in the 36th over before a fighting 53 off from 61 balls by Kish Patel helped the hosts reach 193 all out from 54 overs.
Blake Coburn with 5 for 51 and Will Mottram 3 for 31 were the pick of the visitors’ bowlers.
In reply three quick wickets from Brinder Phagura, had the visitors in trouble at 17 for 3 in the eighth over but Blake Coburn, promoted to number four in place of the injured Haley, with 53 not out, supported by skipper Reddish, saw K&D reach 100 before rain arrived to leave them just short of the winning draw target.
Next week sees the return of 50 over win/lose games with the Griffs playing host to West Bromwich Dartmouth.
