BERKSWELL 213 ALL OUT from 54.1 OVERS
MO AHMED 69
NICK JAMES 38
ALI AWAN 5 FOR 53
MOSELEY 116 ALL OUT from 37.5 OVERS
NICK JAMES 5 FOR 29
RESULT: BERKSWELL 24PTS BEAT MOSELEY 5PTS BY 97 RUNS.
A depleted team due to a worrying lack of consistency in availability allied to poor batting once again let Moseley down as they crashed to a 97-run defeat to Berkswell.
Electing to bat first the visitors were given a fine start by Chaudhry and Ahmed, who put on 54 for the first wicket, before Kishen Patel made the breakthrough. A fine spell from Ali Awan with 5 for 53, playing his first game of the season having recovered from injury, helped dismiss Berkswell for 213 in the 55th over.
In reply the under-strength Griffs were hampered further by the loss of opener Aadam Din, who injured a knee while fielding, and with Jake Sammons dismissed in the first over things became more difficult.
Bhavik and Kishen Patel put on 51 for the second wicket, but after both had been dismissed Moseley slipped from 77 for 3 to 116 all out, with spinners James and Ahmed picking up eight wickets between them.
Next week sees the Griffs make the short trip across Solihull to Dorridge, looking for an upturn in recent fortunes.
