RESULT: MOSELEY 20PTS BEAT KENILWORTH WARDENS 4PTS BY 7 WICKETS.
“The Griffs” cruised to a seven wicket win against an inexperienced Wardens side at Glasshouse Park, and laid to rest the notion that Wardens are their “bogey” team.
Batting first the hosts innings was built around an unbeaten 108 from 114 balls by Harry Johnson and 51 from 15-year-old Jacob Bethell who put on 91 for the third wicket, and Wardens ended on 253 for 6 from their allotted 55 overs.
In reply the Griffs were given a season’s best start of 89 between Bhavik Patel and Asim Shoaib, who topped scored with 88. Ben Griffin with 61 kept up the tempo and with Jugdip Nandra chipping in with 49 not out from just 42 balls the Griffs cruised past their target with 19 balls to spare.
The win moves the Griffs up to fourth place in the table with just 10 points separating five teams in mid table.
Next week the Griffs return to “Scorers” to play Kidderminster, looking to consolidate and build on their recent good performances and results.
